Amari Avery’s victory at the inaugural Mack Champ Invitational earned her a start on the Symetra Tour, the official qualifying tour for the LPGA.
Avery was invited to play the Garden City Classic at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City, Kansas, from April 30-May 2, as part of a new diversity initiative from the LPGA that will give three minority players the chance to compete in Symetra Tour events this season.
Avery, a rising high school senior who also played in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and has already committed to play her college golf at Southern California, spoke about the opportunity in this clip from the Symetra Tour.
