Scholarships

The Cameron Champ Foundation believes education is the key to success for all young people and the most important tool society has for closing the achievement gap for young people of color.

Our scholarships are named after those who overcame obstacles to make golf more diverse and inclusive. We honor their legacies by investing in young people who are inspired to continue changing the face of the game.

Please note that priority will be given to families that demonstrate financial need.

These scholarships are funded with generous donations from our corporate partners and from individual supporters. To make a donation toward any of these scholarships, visit our donation page.

With his grit and resolve, Sifford paved the way for black and brown people to play professional golf.

The Sifford Family is highly honored to have this scholarship established in memory of my father, Dr. Charles Sifford. Bill Dickey Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 per year, renewable up to 4 years
Application Deadline: Aug. 31, 2024, 11:59 PM Pacific Time

This scholarship is open to students demonstrating academic achievement, leadership, financial need, evidence of community service, and an interest in golf. Students will pursue an undergraduate degree (2 or 4 year) at a college, university or trade school of their choice. Only payable to schools in the United States.

The late Bill Dickey was a successful real estate and insurance executive in Phoenix. When he retired, he founded the Bill Dickey Scholarship Association (BDSA) to provide scholarships and support to minority students pursuing higher education and careers in golf-related fields. Through his vision and dedication, the BDSA impacted the lives of more than 1,130 minority students worldwide who were able to realize their dream of higher education.

Bill Dickey’s work as an advocate for diversity holds a special significance for Cameron Champ and our foundation. Cameron won the 2012 Bill Dickey Invitational, which qualified him for the Junior PGA Championship, where his second-place finish led to his participation in the Junior Ryder Cup. We are honored to continue Bill Dickey’s legacy with this scholarship.

The William (Bill) Dickey family is honored to have a scholarship established in memory of my husband. We would like to thank Chevron and the Cameron Champ Foundation for making this possible. My husband dedicated his life to identifying up-and-coming minority golfers for college scholarships, and I appreciate you keeping his memory alive for the sacrifices he and our family made to add diversity on the golf course.

Ken Bentley is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA). He has been instrumental in promoting diversity and inclusion in golf. A passionate golfer himself, he recognized the lack of opportunities for minority golfers with professional aspirations and established the APGA Tour to provide a pathway for minority golfers to pursue their dreams.

Additionally, the APGA Tour partners with various organizations, including the Cameron Champ Foundation, to support its mission of promoting diversity and inclusion in golf.

In recognition of all of this, we have established the Ken Bentley Scholarship in his honor.

Ken Bentley

The Cameron Champ Foundation has provided hundreds of young people with the opportunity to realize their golfing dreams. I am honored to have a scholarship in my name and am hopeful this scholarship will help make a difference in a young person’s life.
